Accompanied by Chang, Jung-Hsi and Chang, En-Shu, one of the founders Hu, Shui-Wang paid a visit to the Minister of Education Chang, Chi-Yun. Subsequently, Hu, along with other members in the board of trustee formally launched the campaign to establish TMU.
June 25th
Executive Yuan sent an official letter to approve TMU’s establishment with qualifications.
July 28th
A campus land near San, Chang Li, Taipei was purchased since the original campus property on Guangfu Road was not spacious enough. New campus covered an area of more than 23,000 ping (76,015 squwere meters). TMU submitted the new campus address to the Ministry of Education for approval.
September 8th
After the board of trustee was established, TMU held the first board meeting at the Hua Fu Grand Hotel on Hankou Street. The first trustees were Hu, Shui-Wang; Hsu, Chien-Tien; Kuo, Chung-Huan; Chang, Jung-Shi; Hsu, Yin-Ke; Wu, Chen-Lang; Hung, Shui-Chi; Shieh, Tung-Min; Liu, Chi-Kuan; Hsiung, Wan; Hou, Yen; Huang, Mu-Sui; Liu, Chuan-Chung; Huang, Chi-Jui; Wu, Huo-Shih et al. Construction of Aluminum house general classroom began.

Minister of Education Mei, Yi-Chi and Director General of the Department of Higher Education of Ministry of Education Lo, Yun-Ping inspected TMU. Ministry of Education submitted the report to Executive Yuan. Executive Yuan approved TMU’s new address.

Construction of Brick bungalow began. Construction completed on April 13 and was put into use on September 12.

TMU’s establishment case was submitted to the Ministry of Education.

The Second board meeting was held at Rose Marie on Bo’ai Road, Taipei. During the meeting, trustees agreed that TMU would mark its anniversary on June 1 and that TMU’s mottoes were “Sincerity” and “Simplicity”.

The Medical Department (later renamed School of Medicine), School of Dentistry, and School of Pharmacy were established. Semester started for the first graduating class of TMU.

San Chang Li campus started operating. Construction of Recreation Center began.

The first graduating class of TMU participated in freshman orientation. TMU officially began its important mission of cultivating good doctors.
